Visiting Wellness is an out-patient behavioral health service that provides the highest level of therapeutic services to seniors, and adults.  We assist our patients by offering in-home and tele-therapy counseling services, case management and behavioral health support. Our clinicians take a supportive and collaborative approach to meet the individual needs of each client.

Visiting Wellness provides outpatient therapy to individuals who are experiencing significant stressors that require professional care and support. Some examples for seeking therapy include: increased stress, anxiety, depressed mood, sleep disturbances, increased frustration and anger, family or relational conflicts, and complicated grief. If you identify with any of these issues or feel you may benefit from therapy, reach out and book an appointment. We are here to help.

Our staff is comprised of doctoral-level psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers and related mental health professionals with expertise in psychological assessment, neuropsychological testing and individual, group and family behavioral health treatment services.

No, anyone can receive in-home counseling services.

Individuals with Medicare do not require preauthorization. Some private insurances do require preauthorization. If you are not sure if your insurance requires it, you should contact them directly to find out.

Yes. Home Health Aides will not interfere with our services and there is no conflict. We can provide services to you at the same time as you receive Home Health Services or any other physical health providers (including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and RN services).

No, our providers do not prescribe medications.  If you need prescription medication please contact your primary care physician or psychiatrist.

We accept most commercial insurance plans, Medicare Part B, most Medicare Advantage plans, and most Medicaid managed care plans (MMAI or ICP).

Medicare does not put a limit on how long or how often you may receive services. However, some private insurance plans require pre-authorizations and reauthorizations for continued services and may stop services if they deem it to not be medically necessary.

We currently provide in-home services throughout Queens, Nassau and Suffolk County and telehealth services throughout New York State. We cannot provide services to individuals in skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities or a hospital. We also are unable to provide services to clients receiving hospice care.

For individuals who do not want in-home services we also offer HIPAA-compliant tele-health counseling services.

Online therapy (tele-psychology, tele-health) is very similar to face-to-face psychotherapy sessions in a psychologist’s office, except you connect with your therapist from the comfort of your home via our secure online network. Research indicates that tele-psychology sessions are as effective in many cases as in-person psychotherapy.
